2021-2020 Class Descriptions

Zumbini Sat. 9:15-9:55am This class is designed for children and their caregivers. We will explore the world around us through song, movement, and instruments. Zumbini runs in 6 week sessions. Each session features a different zumbini character and has tailored music. Session 1 “Kalino Find the Music”, runs September 18th-October 23rd and will conclude with a small graduation ceremony. Come sing, dance, and play as you bond with your child!

PreDance 1 Tues. 3:30-4:25 OR Sat. 10:00-10:55 This ballet/tap combo class introduces the building block of dance through games, songs, and creative movement!

PreDance 2 Thurs. 5:30-6:25 This ballet/tap combo introduces the building blocks of dance through games, songs, and creative movements. Since the children are slightly older than PreDance1 some more complex moves are introduced. Children do not need to complete PreDance1 in order to take PreDance2.

Theatre Bugs Mon. 4:30-5:25 Ages 5-7 A great introduction to theatre arts! We will spend each class singing, acting, and dancing. Throughout the year the class will produce several short plays and skits!

Beginner Ballet Tues. 5:30-6:25 A great next step after PreDance. This class shifts from games and focuses more on proper technique and body alignment. We will focus on classical ballets such as Cinderella, Swan Lake, The Nutcracker etc.

Beginner Jazz & Tap Mon. 5:30-6:25 Does your child love listening to the songs on the radio? This is a great class for them! This class will cover the basics and intermediate skills of tap and jazz. No previous experience required.

Beginner Aerial Sat. 11:00-11:55am Students will be introduced to basic hangs, knots, climbs, and a variety of skills and poses. The focus is on tapping into your upper body, core, and grip strength.  Your goals are to continue building strength and endurance. MUST BE 7 AT THE START OF CLASS

Youth Production Thurs. 4:30-5:25 ages 8-11 This class covers singing, acting, and dancing. Students will work on audition skills and acting techniques to produce several short scenes and plays during the year.

 Intermediate Lyrical Mon. 3:30-4:25 A dance style that embodies various aspects of ballet, jazz, acrobatics, and modern dance. Great for students who are looking for something different than regular ballet. No previous experience required

 Intermediate Jazz & Tap Mon. 5:30-6:25 This class will build upon the skills covered in beginner tap & jazz and get into more complex skills.

Intermediate/Advanced Modern Tues. 7:30-8:25 A free expressive style of dance. Modern really focuses on telling a story through movement. Suggested 1 year of previous dance experience (any style).

 Intermediate/Advanced Ballet Wed. 5:30-6:25 A continuation of beginner ballet. The main focus in this class is technique and alignment. Must have 1 year previous ballet experience.

Aerial 2 Mon. 6:30-7:25 OR Thurs. 3:30-4:25 For aerial students who have completed at least 1 year of beginner aerial. It is strongly recommended that students also be taking a technique class such as ballet, jazz, lyrical, or modern in addition to aerial to help with more complex tricks, flexibility, and strength.

Teen Musical Theatre Jazz & Tap Mon. 7:30-8:25 Perfect class for any musical theatre actor who wants to hone their dance skills. This class will cover dance styles ranging from Chicago to Hamilton and everything in between!

Prepointe /Pointe Wed. 7:30-8:00 This class will introduce the very basics of pointe work including proper wearing of pointe shoes, alignment, and balance. Most of the work will be done at the barre to ensure the safety of dancers. In order to take this class dancers MUST be at least 12 years old and have at least 2 years of previous ballet experience.

Teen Advanced Aerial Thurs. 6:30-7:25 For aerial students who have completed at least 3 years of aerial and who are at least 12 years old. It is strongly recommended that students also be taking a technique class such as ballet, jazz, lyrical, or modern in addition to aerial to help with more complex tricks, flexibility, and strength
